logo Digitise - Join Two Polylines

(This option is not available on the Freeware version)

This option allows you to join two polylines together to make a single polyline.

Enter the Adjust Vertex mode by clicking the Join Two Polylines toolbar button (or the Vector->Digitise->Join Two Polylines menu option).
The cursor will change to a Crosshair Cursor crosshair to indicate that the digitising mode is in effect.

First you select a polyline end point. The target square will automatically jump to the end points as you move the mouse. Then you select the end point of a second polyline. While you are moving the mouse WinTopo Pro shows the connecting vectors jumping to the nearest polyline end point, so that you can see exactly what the result will be before you click the second polyline.

When you click the second polyline end point WinTopo Pro will join the two polylines into one single polyline. The one new polyline replaces the two original polylines. The colour of the new polyline will be the averaged colour of the two original polylines. The other polyline attributes (for example, Id number and Elevation) are inherited from the first of the two original polylines.

To quit the operation without joining polylines you can click the right mouse button. Alternatively, you can press the Esc key, or click the Adjust Polyline Vertex toolbar button again.

Snap Modes

The Snap mode options have no effect. The target square will jump to the nearest vector end point to the cursor.

Undo

If you make a mistake, or want to redo a point, then you can click the Undo button undo toolbar button. The last digitising operation will be undone.
